Hi there girls (Dave not included - but hi Dave).

Well, since I am living close to the North Pole I need to ask about this BACA thingie. What is it? Kind of have a feeling it is some kind of "helping others" group/club. Sometimes a little hard for me to figure these things out when they are (what do you call it ?) "short spelled?

Forgive me for my lack of words - short spelled? Must be a better phrase for it.

BACA is a dedicated, serious organization of Bikers Against Child Abuse. You apply to your closest chapter to join...there is a background check done on you to ensure there are no past ghosts in the closet concerning children. Once you are cleared, you are invited to ride with them to their police and parent approved case(s). You must attend all meetings and have professional counseling concerning child abuse cases.

After a year and all goes well, you are patched, meaning you have earned your back patch for your vest.

What they do is provide support in numbers to the victim of abuse, including attending court appearances with the child. Two members who live geographically closest to the child are chosen to provide him or her with 24 hour support if and when needed. The point is to aleviate fear and loneliness to the victim and family, while letting the perp and neighborhood know that this is our little sister or brother, and we will not allow him/her to be hurt.

BACA is a most worthy group whose members hearts and souls are dedicated to protecting and healing our little ones from the devastating effects of child abuse...parent, family member, neighbor, stranger.

I have left out much, but in a nutshell, I hope I was able to describe BACA.

I'm firmly on board and eagerly welcome this organization to our state.
