DkKnight Posted September 19, 2008 #1 Posted September 19, 2008 How do you transfer the remaining warranty on an RSV to the new owner, any cost?
SaltyDawg Posted September 19, 2008 #2 Posted September 19, 2008 I would check with a dealer, but I don't think the warranty is with the owner. I think it's the bike. When I had warranty work they looked up the vin and checked the warranty that way. Again I would check with a dealer though.
gibvel Posted September 19, 2008 #3 Posted September 19, 2008 Most I've heard of doing this have taken it to the dealer. Some have said they've been charged something like $25 IIRC but some haven't been charged anything.
Eck Posted September 19, 2008 #4 Posted September 19, 2008 As already mentioned.. it's the bike............they look up the vin and check for warranty by the year... Yes, some dealers charge to look this info up, and some do it for nothing... It only takes a minute to type in the vin# and see if there is any remaining warrenty... Personally, it is not worth $25.00 to me for them to check this.. If they want to charge me to look this quick info up, I KNOW Im dealing with someone who is out to make a dollar and they are not worried at all about me or about what is wrong with my bike..
