I have a small oil leak. It looks like it might be coming from the drive shaft. It's on the pavement just behind the sidestand. It's not much, but I plan on leaving tomorrow for Mississippi. Anybody have any ideas. Is there a place I can check the level in the drive shaft? Don't want any trouble on the road.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Sure... There is a plug at about the 3 o'clock position on the rear wheel part of the drive shaft assembly. The drain plug is on the bottom and there is a vent plug(breather)on the top. Anyway, fill the drive shaft up to the bottom of the plug threads with some 80-90 weight gear oil and you'll be good to go.:happy34:

That drip is typically from oil migrating thru the stator wires. This is pretty common and more of a nuisance than anything. It would be a good idea to check your clutch reservior to make sure the slave is not leaking.

Ditto.

Stator wire leak is no big deal. Clutch slave leaks are, don't have much extra to loose. Might want to take a close look at the master cylinder and make sure you're not loosing fluid from the clutch.

Thank you so much gentlemen. You guys are the best. I'm so glad that the Ambassador put me on to this site. I've never met a nicer bunch of people. You guys pray for me on this trip. I'm going solo. My son is not able to make it.

Thanks again
