i cannot get the up arrow to work on my radio, or to function on other functions,, any ideas,, thanks, Bob

It could be the control unit or the cable. Split the faring and on the left side of the headlight you will see a bundle of wires that have large round connectors with different colored bands on them. Pull them apart and put some di-electric grease on them. That may solve the problem

Bob what bike do you have? WE need to know if its a First Gen or a 2nd gen.

Looking at his profile he has a 1st gen '91'. Unless he's anpther smart convert to the 2nd gens.

Most likely the buttons need to be cleaned, so take out the radio, remove the face so that you can get under the buttons and give them a cleaning. Everyone needs a bath now and then.

thank you all i will try the cleaning first and then the dialectric grease if that does not work.

i have done every thing that was suggested and know change so i was told by the mech. at yamaha the the unit at the handle bar should be replaced any ideas how to get a good used one,, thanks
