MikeyJ Posted September 17, 2008 #1 Posted September 17, 2008 What are you all using for wiring connections for towing? McHitch has a two piece circuit but it costs around $100. There has to be a better way. Any suggestions???

Leadwolf56 Posted September 17, 2008 #3 Posted September 17, 2008 Check Rivco's website, they have a 5 wire relay. It depends on what kind of trailer you're pulling and what kind of connector you're using. I have both as I pulled a cargo trailer and now have a camper and they use different types of plugs and wiring. Either one is very easy to install.
juggler Posted September 17, 2008 #4 Posted September 17, 2008 Try this one [/url]http://www.etrailer.com/p-118146.htm . Here is an tech article on how to wire the modulite http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=503 I have essentially the same module install on my bike. It was real easy to install. I bought some wire wrap at Radio Shack and wrapped the wires that run back under the trunk. I did the rear wire run a little different than in that tech article. I already have run extra wires running into the tail light/license plate areas and there isn't enough extra room to squeeze yet another set through the hole in the fender, so I kept my wires snug up to the bottom of the trunk and us a Velcro strap to keep the plug tucked up out of sight when not in use. I simply strapped the wires to the chrome that hold the trunk. When not is use you can not see the wire plug and when in use I loop the wire from the trailer over my right antenna mount and plug it in. Then none of the wiring ever rubs on my paint. Cheers,
MikeyJ Posted September 18, 2008 Author #5 Posted September 18, 2008 Both of my trailers have motorcycle 5 wire plugs (separate brake and turn signal), so the Modulite won't do. I'll go look up the Rivco page.
