sarges46 Posted September 16, 2008 #4 Posted September 16, 2008 Congrats James! Hope you love your new bike...they are nice indeed. The risers are right up my alley, I need them.
ken Posted September 16, 2008 #5 Posted September 16, 2008 Congrads on the new HD!! I did the same, only last year with a 2008 Ultra. At first I didn't like the HD over my RSV. They both have thier own pros and cons. I've logged almost 6,000 miles on the HD and I can truly say I do very much miss my RSV. The HD has plenty of power and is well balanced and yes there's that resale thing, but I miss how quiet and smooth my RSV was. A lot of riders whine about how top heavy the RSV is, well I never had a problem. One thing I noticed right away on the HD was the lack of passenger room. If I'm riding two up the back of my legs hit the wifes feet every time I stop. Speaking of room you'll find you can't stretch out on the HD like you can on the RSV. I will say the radio/cb/cd player is much user friendly the the RSV and the adjustable vent make for a nice air flow. Over the past 6,000 mile I've grown to like the hd but we havn't bonded as of yet.

Guest Ken8143 Posted September 17, 2008 #15 Posted September 17, 2008 Venture or no venture, I still look forward to meeting you this saturday and drooling all over your bike.
Tombo Posted September 17, 2008 #17 Posted September 17, 2008 I look forward to seeing you with the new scoot on Saturday. I also have a H-D UC (2003) and agree with Ken. I have less foot room on the H-D but it feels smaller and more maneuverable when riding in town in traffic. I also like the fuel injection, I keep forgetting to take off the choke on cool mornings. On the road the RSV is definitely more comfortable. Ride on...
Pilot Posted September 17, 2008 Author #18 Posted September 17, 2008 So no one thinks I was playing favorites I sold the parts to the first person that replied via email or posted here on this thread. I used the time the email or post was sent to determine the winner. I must have sold this stuff CHEEP because they went like hot cakes. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out in the past with the Tech questions I had on the Venture. I have made many new friends who will remain so as long as I still breathe and I will continue to visit the site. I am going too miss the RSV but for me it’s time to move on. I pick up the new ride today and hope to spend a few hundred miles of road time getting to know her, then its accessory time….LOL Pilot
Pilot Posted September 17, 2008 Author #19 Posted September 17, 2008 OK I screwed up sending everyone who bought items from me and drove Don nuts. So I'm asking everyone who won items too send me your shipping address (via email) and as soon as I get the exact shipping charge for your item(s) I will send you an email with the total cost. You can use PayPal or just send me a check. Don I sorry for the screw up on the emails. Jim
Pilot Posted September 17, 2008 Author #20 Posted September 17, 2008 Where are the PIcs?? All I have now is one that I downloaded from the HD site. I pick up the bike today and will take and post pictures.
Freebird Posted September 17, 2008 #21 Posted September 17, 2008 No problem at all. Just wanted you to know that they didn't get where you intended.
Pilot Posted September 18, 2008 Author #22 Posted September 18, 2008 Congrads on the new HD!! I did the same, only last year with a 2008 Ultra. At first I didn't like the HD over my RSV. Over the past 6,000 mile I've grown to like the hd but we havn't bonded as of yet. The 09 frams is redesigned they moved the passenger seat back about an inch. They moved the bag rails back about 3/4" to give more room to the passenger. The exhaust is redesigned to move the right pipe out of the way of the rider and passenger, less heat and more room. I added foot pegs, that took care of the stretching problem for me. Going to put 500 miles on her today so I can get the Rev's up a bit higher then 4K. Ride her like you bought her.
Squidley Posted September 18, 2008 #24 Posted September 18, 2008 Good looking scoot, hopefully Yamaha will pull their heads out and redesign a bike with some of the amenities that the H/D has upgraded to and that we want Now you can join the Touring Hogs website
Yammer Dan Posted September 18, 2008 #25 Posted September 18, 2008 I HATE IT!! I HATE IT!! I HATE IT!!! I HATE IT!!! This ain't working!! I would almost trade a good 1st Gen for that!! Hope you get a lot of smiles and miles out of it. It is a beautiful color!!
