looking to take a trip in October to Dowagiac MI what is the weather like around that time should i be concerned about snow or ice around that time?

No, we don't have snow around here in October. Only about half the time have we seen any snow flurries by Thanksgiving, and seldom any accumulation. I know if you hit the Canadian border though, you'd better have dogsled reservations.

 

Heated gear might be real nice though, especially on a trip like that. Being cold all day on the bike is no fun.

According to the Weather Channel for Elkhart ( about 35 miles South ) average temps for Oct. 1st highs and lows are 70 and 48 and Oct 31st high and lows are 57 and 38. Enjoy your ride.
