eazyduzzit Posted September 13, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2008 I am the proud new owner of a Tour Deluxe and an old owner of a Magellan GPS unit that my wife and I use on all of our car trips. My question is: Has anyone here seen an aftermarket power cord that can be wired to a bike? I'm not worried about the mount, I can fabricate something. Thanks in advance... stardbog Posted September 13, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2008 I have mounted one if this http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/Panel-Mount-Outlet-p-18318.html on Handlebar, so i can use for GPS or iPod while riding. GPS cigaret lighter convert DC power from 12V to ( I Think ) 3,5 V DC. Don't Try to cut off Cigaret lighter type end, and hook up strait to 12V Bike electrical system. You'll fry GPS. God Luck
mfb Posted September 13, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 13, 2008 I haven't used this product but I am looking to solve the same problem and found this option. I don't know if they have a fit for your GPS unit but you may want to check into it. http://powerlet.net/products/pbr_bundled_packs.php
Eugene Posted September 13, 2008 Share #4 Posted September 13, 2008 I had my dealer handlebar mount a cigarette light thingie - I can use if for ANY GPS, re-charge cell phone etc etc. It has a rubber cover to keep the elements out and cost about $75.00 installed. If it ever stops raining, I'll take a pic. Cheers

God Luck I looked at your link, but the ad wasn't very informative. Is that a cigarette lighter type receptacle?
