faring 89 vr

dose any one have detailed instruction on how to put the front end back together the front forks are there the person i bought the bike from tooke the faring off , the dash and the only thing left are the front forks and the handle bars the rest came in a box-------------------help me oby one----

Hopefully someone on here has some pics of a close-up with the dash installed. It's almost a--"I took it apart" thing- to be able to put it back together. If'n I was there it would be pretty easy. When I took mine apart, I left the dash and wiring attached to the fairing sub-frame. I checked and I don't have any pics good enuff to help you.

The factory service manual has a procedure in it, but as I recall it's not much help.

 

To the best of my recollection I think you need to do this in the following order:

 

- Fairing Stay

- Instrument cluster

- Headlamp assembly

- Both fairing halves

- Mirrors (they hold the top of the fairing in place

- Scoop under nose of the fairing

- Headlight trim

- Body front lower

 

Make sure all the cables are routed before putting the upper cowling on.

 

- RH upper cowling

- CB/CLASS panel

- LH upper cowling

- Windshield and trim

 

Then you can reinstall the side covers and the top covers

 

Good luck. It's tough enough when you're the one that took it apart.
