Just watched Ike's progress on the news. And I was complaining about losing some trees from Fay. This one sure looks like its going to be devastating. I hope you all in its path are safe. We will be praying for you all. Keep us updated if you can..please!!

hi all

so for only wind blowing harder, not suppose to see the big wind (100+ mph) untill after midnite. i live up on the north side from houston, about 45 + miles from galveston.

been thru super typhoons(195+ mph winds) in south china sea and island of guam. so this no biggie but then again i didn't have 30-40 foot pine trees in my yard over there either. thanks for asking i feel we will be lucky here. hope all who live closer to the gulf come out ok.:2cents:

best reguards to all

Jeff, down here, 150 or so miles south of Galveston, we are fine

sun is still shining, not a drop of rain, light Northeast breeze blowing. highest gust i've seen all day, was about 24 m.p.h.

i too pray for all those, in Ike's immediate path.

All you folks down there be safe and dont push your luck with anything. I know that Lonna's mom and sisters have left Houston and are about 50 miles inland. Let us know what you folks need and know that all of our Gulf coast brothers and sisters are in our thoughts

one thing is for certain.

there won't be much left of Galveston Island, after tomorrow!

so much for the annual "Lone Star Ralley" which happens every October.
