Friend just bought 08 Venture. Has around 1500 miles on it now and every time he rides his clutch hand turns black. It only takes about 10 miles of back road riding for this to happen. Getting worse the more miles he puts on. Dealer said he would check with rep about replacement. Friend thought this was not right for just a clutch lever. We think maybe the lever was not sealed (?) or coated correctly from factory. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks

Gloves or chrome levers. Clearcoating the lever will help till it wears off, then back to square 1 again.

I tired or the black hand myself so went with chrome. :thumbsup2: I think they cost about $20 each for clutch and brake.

Had that very problem with my lever as well. My fix was to install the leather lace up covers for both the clutch and brake levers. Got em from JC Whitney for less than $20 and they are holding up very well. No hand slippage as you may experience with chromed levers I might add.
