Iowawegian Posted September 12, 2008 #1 Posted September 12, 2008 Gary and I are headed to Southwest WI in the Wildcat Mt State Park area and Devils Lake Sate Park for a weekend alone!! Looking forward to it as we haven't had much "us" time. Anyone have any fun roads, pubs, places to visit? Probably going to hit Balltown, rode the Cassville Ferry last weekend (see Pix). Anyway, thought if anyone knew of any unusual places to visit, we'd check it out!
mini-muffin Posted September 12, 2008 #2 Posted September 12, 2008 Sounds like fun. I can't help with any of the questions never been. So I'll be looking forward to your pics when you get back. Ride safe. Margaret
keithert Posted September 12, 2008 #3 Posted September 12, 2008 Just west of Madison there are some great motorcycle roads. Lot's of twisties!
eagleeye Posted September 12, 2008 #4 Posted September 12, 2008 I'm 15 mi south of Devils Lake and when we head towards Wildcat mt, we just point our bikes that way and take any road that sounds/looks good. Eventually we end up there. If you have a gps, just pick shortest route and you will find some fantastic roads. You've been to Rocton, so you know about that. Good burger and cold beer. When are you going? If you get nearby, my cell is listed, give me a call or stop by. Steve
RedRider Posted September 12, 2008 #5 Posted September 12, 2008 Deb, Hwy 60 up the WI River is pretty cool. Also, take some time and visit the Devil's Lake State Park. Hike around the lake on the bluffs. Incredible views looking down at the hawks soaring below. One of my favorite places in the state. RR
