Dano Posted September 11, 2008 #1 Posted September 11, 2008 Got to spend about 4 hours out there today, time constraints did not allow longer time (D**N). Gonna be a great weekend, even if it rains. Taking the boy up to the Red Bull TNT Freestyle MX up in Broad Ripple tonite. HEY, YOU VMAX HEADS-----EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT!!!!! They have 3 VMax's out there for TEST RIDES!!! Time ran out or I was gonna get one...........
Cerviperus Posted September 11, 2008 #2 Posted September 11, 2008 I may drop in there at some point on Saturday Would it be worth it at $20 to go in on qualifying day?
Dano Posted September 12, 2008 Author #3 Posted September 12, 2008 Most definately worth the money, even if it rains. These guys are only a few seconds slower in a downpour than they are dry. I would be there if I didn't have other commitments. Couple pics from the Freestyle show tonite. These guys were jumping 75' on a street thats only 35' wide, no padding or anything. Tommy Clowers was there jumping. One guy did 3 consecutive back-flips. Tomorrow nite downtown they'll have the streetbike trick championships. If I wasn't announcing the Varsity football game at school, I'd be there. Like to say "Hey" to you this weekend Cervi, but pretty busy. Sunday morning I'll be home, tho! Till baseball in the PM, anyway. Oh, got a little something for the back of the bike, too.
Cerviperus Posted September 12, 2008 #4 Posted September 12, 2008 We're headed that way this afternoon sometime, on the way to Noblesville. We'll be staying there for the night with one couple, and Saturday night we're staying on the southeast side, pretty much in the corner of 74 & 465. Saturday will be the day we drop by the track, if we get to at all. It all depends what the other two couples we're visiting feel like doing. Then I think we're headed back home Sunday around 1:00-2:00.
Bummer Posted September 12, 2008 #5 Posted September 12, 2008 Hey Dan, you look good on that V-Max. Unfortunately due to family issues I'm not going to be able to get away today. Maybe tomorrow. With any luck the rain'll be done for a while. It looks like it's pushing up and may miss us. (Fingers crossed.)
Dano Posted September 12, 2008 Author #6 Posted September 12, 2008 To be honest, Bummer, kinda felt like I was sittin' on my IT400. Bar height from seat is about the same. Only thing I didn't like was the air tubes coming out so far. Held my knees out and uncomfortable for tank grabbing. Wish I could have taken it for a ride. Cerviperus, I live just 8 miles out on 74 from 465 on SE side. Exit 101 on 74. Maybe we can hook-up Sunday before you take off. We'll be leaving short afternoon for baseball if it's not rained out. I'll get your cellie # if it's on yur profile and give you a shout. Dan

From the look of it I'll bet it's a bit lumpy right where your knees go. There was a lot good to be said about those rubber tank side pads on the bikes from the '70s.
Mariner Fan Posted September 13, 2008 #8 Posted September 13, 2008 Nice pictures Dan. For some reason, I never even thought of going. Now I kinda wish I did.
waterbug Posted September 13, 2008 #9 Posted September 13, 2008 I hope the rain stays away or doesnt get to bad if it doesnt I am going to take the kids out there sat and look around. anyone made it down town yet? I hear there is alot going on there also with four or more blocks shut down to cars and only letting bike in.

There was a lot good to be said about those rubber tank side pads on the bikes from the '70s. Try one for yourself when you get out there, Steve. I would have really liked to have ridden it. Yammi got their other demos there (on the big blue truck) as we were leaving. Oh, got to meet Nicky Haydens mom and dad in their shop in Gasoline Alley. Look them up. Good story teller. Funny aside to that,,,, Nickys moms name- Rose----My wife-Rose sons name--both Nic(k) Nice pictures Dan. For some reason, I never even thought of going. Now I kinda wish I did. That's because you're too busy playing around on here all day at work, instead of figuring out ways to get out of there!!!!!!!!! I hope the rain stays away or doesnt get to bad if it doesnt I am going to take the kids out there sat and look around. anyone made it down town yet? I hear there is alot going on there also with four or more blocks shut down to cars and only letting bike in. They are still doing that Saturday night, Meridian south of Maryland down to the viaduct. May go check it out Sat. nite if weather is OK. Doubt it tho. It's a shame to have all this going on, and can't get to it!
Squeeze Posted September 13, 2008 #11 Posted September 13, 2008 and when are you going to put your Deposit down at Flatout ?? I really envy you that Day at the Races, even if it have been Hours only.
SaltyDawg Posted September 13, 2008 #12 Posted September 13, 2008 My boss called me yesterday from IMS and for the first 30 seconds all I heard were MC's wizzing by the phone. During a lull I was able to understand what he was saying. It would seem that he is there for the weekend. He was watching them get in a few laps at the time. Sounds like he is going to have a great time. He did say it was raining though.
Dano Posted September 14, 2008 Author #13 Posted September 14, 2008 and when are you going to put your Deposit down at Flatout ?? I really envy you that Day at the Races, even if it have been Hours only. What, I can't have yours when it comes in? I really wish I could have ridden it. Gettin ready to go downtown for a little bit and see some of the bikes. I'll take pics and post them later. Dan
Dano Posted September 14, 2008 Author #14 Posted September 14, 2008 WOW!!! From our guesstimate, probably 1500 bikes downtown tonite!!! Only ran into 2 RSTD's, invited them to join. NO 2ND GENS?????? I was the ONLY Venture down there. Sure let me know how BAD this poor girl needs fresh paint!!! QUestion on one bike..... Said "Bullet 500" on the oil tank, pic included. SOme of these bikes were purely amazing!!!
Squeeze Posted September 14, 2008 #16 Posted September 14, 2008 What, I can't have yours when it comes in? I really wish I could have ridden it. Gettin ready to go downtown for a little bit and see some of the bikes. I'll take pics and post them later. Dan If you come over here next Year, you sure can ride it. But you can't have it, it's my Companies Property ... :D :D On the other Hand you are lucky! Be assured, once you test ridden it, you desperately would have started to think about Solutions how to come up with 1 Grand right now(not that big Problem with some Adjustments) and another nineteen until February/March next Year. This Thing will be ridiculous and once you've ridden it, it's like a Drug. Addictive just don't describe it enough. You can't get it out of your Head anymore. I know this first Hand form the modified Maxxes i've ridden, and they where all less powerfull than this Beast is in stock Setup.
