Deacon Posted September 11, 2008 #1 Posted September 11, 2008 Yamaha has released the 2009 RSV and RSTD models and not a dam thing has changed. No upgrade in the sound system, no FI, no increase in HP etc.. Oh well I guess I'll be keeping my 2006 RSTD with the newly purchased mustang seat..
Deacon Posted September 11, 2008 Author #2 Posted September 11, 2008 My BAD. the colors did change of course..
ahoutzer Posted September 11, 2008 #3 Posted September 11, 2008 More money to fix up our '06s with! I just bought an LED replacement tail light and a Stebel horn. Now to find that bracket that I've read about for the horn...
Deacon Posted September 11, 2008 Author #4 Posted September 11, 2008 I think i'll add a set of krome werks slip-ons with turn down tips this month and because I heard they hava a lower/deeper and they 're less loud then the BUBS. AND THAT IT !!...........................................................Until next month
ahoutzer Posted September 11, 2008 #5 Posted September 11, 2008 I like mine quiet, so the stock pipes are just fine for me, but I have wanted the tips that are available for RSTDs. The RSTD stock pipes appear to be identical to RSV stock pipes except that the RSTD pipes have threaded holes for bolting on these tips, and RSVs don't have those holes. I bought a set of the tips on eBay last night, and hope that I can figure out a way to mount them without damaging the original pipes. Next a new set of winter gloves. That should be it for a while.
Freebird Posted September 11, 2008 #6 Posted September 11, 2008 I did it the easy way. I bought the complete set of RSTD mufflers off Ebay a couple of years ago. Rick Butler did it your way though. You might give him a shout or search for posts by him because I know he did post it. Basically he used a punch to punch holes in the correct location. A PUNCH...not a drill. Using a punch left the metal inside which he then tapped to the proper size.
yamahamer Posted September 11, 2008 #7 Posted September 11, 2008 More money to fix up our '06s with! I just bought an LED replacement tail light and a Stebel horn. Now to find that bracket that I've read about for the horn... Yea! Our 06's look better anyway. This is the horn bracket. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/312/cat/7
ahoutzer Posted September 11, 2008 #8 Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) The bracket is ordered, thanks for the reference. Now on to finding a post about the muffler tips... Searching... Got it. Now just waiting for all parts to arrive. Edited September 11, 2008 by ahoutzer
