FROG MAN Posted September 12, 2008 #26 Posted September 12, 2008 The storm is moving quicker now. Less time to strengthen and still moving north. It might hit now friday evening and the eye path projections are shifting farther north every few hours.

mini-muffin Posted September 12, 2008 Author #28 Posted September 12, 2008 That surge doesn't look like much fun. Seems the water part is gonna be the worst part. These storms spread out when they've been up to cat 4 or 5 and then come down. That's a nasty storm. You folks please stay safe. Margaret
MasterGuns Posted September 12, 2008 #29 Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) Anyone headin towards the DFW area with no place to stay or go, I have a 30' motorhome equipped with satellite tv, two 19" plasmas, a full head, kitchen, a/c and generator and shore 30 amp as long as the power stays on. Private setup away from the main house. Room for another vehicle as well under the same rv cover. I am about 15 miles west of Fort Worth in Aledo, Texas. Could house two or three quite comfortably and for free. My number is listed on this site. Let me know as any member here is more than welcome. masterguns (Herb) Edited September 12, 2008 by MasterGuns
jvbailey3 Posted September 12, 2008 #30 Posted September 12, 2008 Thanks. Biggest problem in one of the hardest hit areas - Baton Rouge - is keeping the electricity going. At one point after Gustav, all of BR was out of power. Now most of it had power. Now we are losing power again today - THANKS, IKE!!!!!!!!!!!! While I have a generator, it is not the same as living in a house with central air, TV, Cold fridge, etc. Oh well, could live in the land of snow - only over my wife's dead body. She refuses to live north of I20. Ah well, atleast I don't have to shovel snow and when the hurricanes aren't blowing us around, can ride the bike more
