steppenwolf Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I am reaching here a bit on my memory, did a search on here but didn't find it... back in"83 I got a package in the mail from Yamaha introducing the brand new "83 Yamaha Venture, advertising stuff the normal, a map of the United States, and a square little record made of a flimsey vinyl with a 45rpm cut with a Song "Don't Follow Any One"...a Waylon Jenings type voice singing the song......any body else remember that?
BradT Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I was starting College in 83 so to answer your question NO. However some of the older fellows may remember it but in Mr. Owls case he can't remember Yesterday. Brad
juggler Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Dang your a young one and I'm too young to be saying that. I'm only 40. I cannot find any reference to that song on the internet. However, I found out that God Rides a Yamaha. Kathy Shaidle's "God Rides a Yamaha" http://bookreviewsandmore.ca/2006/07/god-rides-yamaha-by-kathy-shaidle.html

Hmm, no I was riding an 82 Yamaha 750 Seca at the time, but I was living in Hawaii. Perhaps Yamaha did think it was worth sending touring ads to someone living on an island?
MiCarl Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 You know, I just recently saw a picture of that record and brochure somewhere on the internet. I remember thinking how stupid a square record seemed.
