locals who live near "padre island ", off the Texas middle and lower coast, love to see these "gulf storms", roll in.

reason being is that they ALWAYS wash up more "gold doubloons" and "silver pieces of eight", onto the beaches.

of course it is illegal to pick them up, to keep, because our govt. in it's benevolence has made the whole island into a "national seashore park".so , if you find coins, chains, or precious stones on the island, you are SUPPOSED to stop by the park ranger's office and turn them in.
